Periodic Audio Glitches in both stream and recorded files

I'm running a fairly capable PC... Ryzen 3700X / 16GB RAM / RTX 2060. However...

I'm getting dropouts every few minutes (i.e. on average between 1:30 to 2:45) in every OBS recording. With few exceptions, each of these dropouts (see image below) is exactly 21ms in length. The only exceptions I've seen are 6ms in length.

I'm recording audio at 48kHz to 192kbps AAC in an MKV wrapper. Core audio is installed. Dropouts only occur in the audio... not the video.

I'm capturing audio and video using an AJA U-TAP SDI device.

I've confirmed these dropouts don't occur when I record a WAV file directly from the U-TAP... even while simultaneously streaming and recording in OBS.

At this point, I've tried every combination of bitrates, plugin removal, recording formats, etc. I can think of.

My log files indicate no material issues. The only question mark for me is a 42ms audio delay OBS is injecting which is exactly double the length of my audio dropouts (i.e. 21ms). But I admit... I'm grasping at straws with that observation.

Does anyone have suggestions for additional avenues of investigation / troubleshooting?

Thank you,
dp
