Performance gain/stability if using the i7-14700k's IGPU (uhd770) to handle encoding in OBS while the Nvidia 4080 super is dealing with vr gaming.

My 4080 Super is concurrently handling VR sim racing, webcam, and OBS recording/streaming 4k to youtube. I've just remembered that the cpu's integrated uhd770 (currently disabled in BIOS), has some nice hardware encoding features (multi format codec engines and quicksync) :gpu features

Has anyone tried using the integrated uhd770 for handling encoding in OBS at the same time as the discreet GPU is gaming? Was there a noticeable performance increase in gaming/streaming, and was stability OK with both GPU's going at it simultaneously?

Cheers

OK, I went ahead and enabled the IGPU and set OBS to use quicksync h.265 instead of the nvidia NEVC for streaming and recording encoding. I found it does reduce the 4080's 3d usage in taskmanager by between 5 and 10%.

One thing I'm noticing though is that if OBS is visible rather than minimised, the discreet GPU 3d usage rises from 18% (just with obs), up to 40%, even if obs is not recording. I assume this is the video preview. Is there any way to disable the video preview so that I can still see the other controls? I tried dragging the tabs off of the OBS UI and into their own windows, but they still dissapear if I minimise OBS main UI.

I tried assigning the obs.exe to use the IGPU in windows display/graphics settings, but that prevent the desktop from being captured.
