Question / Help Performance Down After OBS Launches

I have a problem, whenever I launch OBS the system (Kubuntu 15.04 64bit) slows down and everything is lagging, poor performance etc.

I have i7 4500U, 4 CORES, 4G RAM.
If I take a look at processes, OBS takes just 5% of CPU and 50M RAM.

I guess it's because of this:
xc12cBJ.png

it doesn't render properly and glitches.
is there any way to close this video-view of whatever it is called?

Strange...I upgraded to Kubuntu 15.04 today and my OBS works perfectly ! Is this a new install or an upgrade for you ?
And to be able to close the preview should be available in the next release.

it's a fresh install..

It doesn't matter if I hit the record or stream button. Once I run the program everything's lagging.
I can record an example.

ok I was streaming right now and OBS does consumes:

8295 laser 20 0 1650880 311212 82100 S 75,8 7,9 25:49.43 obs

quite enough, probably OBS needs to be optimized more.
let's see what happens in next releases.

Depending on the cpu and your settings, obs might well need that much CPU. Has nothing to do with optimization.
And your CPU isn't that good.
