Question / Help PC Lags (In-game or not) when OBS is open and even more when streaming/recording with it

Laptop Specifications:

i7-7700HQ
8GB RAM
GTX 1050ti

I am new to this whole streaming/recording thing 'cause I wanted to try it out while playing with my friends. I've followed those videos on YouTube where they show you the best settings so that there wouldn't be any lag, however after a lot of configuration it would still lag.

For example with Minecraft, without OBS running my FPS would be 150-200, but with OBS present it would put it down to 10-25 which is a huge downgrade. I checked my Task Manager and nothing seemed to be wrong.

Here is my log file: https://obsproject.com/logs/yKhuE5PfaGbH6w6A

Why specifically are you using OBS on the integrated graphics and display capture instead of OBS on the high performance and game capture?

Okay so I now run OBS on NVIDIA High Performance and Game Capture. I've tested it again by playing Minecraft and recording my gameplay. It helped by adding 40+ more frames (Thanks!) but it is still far away from my normal FPS without OBS.

I now get 60-80 FPS with your help. But I would still like to get the same FPS as I do without OBS or at least have an FPS that is near it.

Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 2178/2267 (96.1%)
set fps from 60 to 30

Just did this. Still the same FPS.

Note: I followed Harold's suggestion and I got 60FPS after (Recording with 60FPS). After following your suggestion (Switched to 30FPS recording) I would still get the same FPS (Nothing changed).

OBS uses GPU resources. If you are running an app like Minecraft without a framerate cap, then Minecraft without OBS running will always have a higher framerate than Minecraft with OBS running.
