Pause/Resume recording, negate post-record splicing?

I would really enjoy having a pause resume feature, if it's not already implemented and I just can't find it. But I'm pretty sure it's just not a feature. I know that it's possible for me to splice the videos together, but I find the effort that goes into it makes doing it not desirable, whereas if I could just pause, I would use that feature a lot.

There was a thread in the classic forum on this topic. But yeah.

I am looking for how to splice out dead space in a recording. If there is no ability in OBS, is there a tool that is recommended?
