Question / Help Pause Button Disappeared

Windows 10 OBS 24.0.3

I used to have a pause button next to the recording button, but it's been missing for the past 5 or so sessions. It's missing in the full-screen view and windowed. I don't see a way to re-enable it. Can anyone help?

You can't have the pause function if your recording encoder is set to "Same as stream"

Thanks. Now I'm wondering how the setting got changed from x264. Oh well, not worth wondering about. Thanks again.

Does the pause function also disappear when using the custom ffmpeg encoder? Because mine is missing.

No, it doesen't disappear. I managed to get the pause button by changing the encoder. U go to output, set output mode to simple, and go to the encoder. Click the one thats not x264, click apply and bam! Pause button is back!

Neither pause nor replay buffer are compatible with custom ffmpeg output mode.
