Struggling to find some good info on how good the Nvidia Pascal cards are for Encoding VS a CPU for Live-Streaming. Are they better than the 900 series? I currently have the MSI GTX 1060 gaming x 6gb stacked with an i7-6700 (Non K) and 16gb DDR4. I was going to use my laptop for the streaming part when i game to take the load of my CPU when streaming but my laptop is acting up so i'm thinking about using the GPU on my gaming PC instead until i can put together a 2nd PC. And i also noticed some additional settings in the NVENC part part of OBS studio that i'm curious about Not sure if they came with the 16.2 update or previous version. If anyone has a link as to what these extra settings do id appreciate that :) Ill be looking at streaming BF1 so what would be the impacts on the GPU if any and how would the quality be compared to the 900 series cards?

NVENC is horrible to poor looking at streaming bitrates.

As to the 10x0-series vs. the 9x0-series, the 10x0-series is able to encode more fps, but all NVENCs (going back to the 1.0s in the 6x0-series) are able to more then encode 1920x1080@60p.
