Question / Help partial screen capture

hi I have used OBS to successfully screen capture a video. Now I wish to only crop a part of that video. How can that be done?

Use the Crop/Pad filter on the source (right click -> Filters)

To modify an existing video, use a video editor. OBS Studio is no video editor, it's a live production/recording app. A simple video editor is coming with Windows 10, search for "Video-Editor" in the Windows search box.
