Question / Help Overnight Loss of Desktop Audio Recording

Hello,

I am using OBS to record gameplay footage and overnight I seem to have lost the ability to record desktop audio. And I mean that literally as last night I recorded footage with no issues and today, with no change to settings I am completely unable to get OBS to even notice that audio is playing on the desktop and the most I've been able to capture is the faint moments of audio that my microphone picks up leaking from my headphones.

Anyone have any idea why this could be? I attempted updating to the newest version and the problem has not been resolved. Changing my desktop audio device from default to any of the options presented did not work either.

Update: It seems to record sounds from certain games as well as when I visit youtube online however other games or videos/sounds played through VLC are not registering.

Anyone have any ideas?

So, you are using OBS 64 bits. VLC is also 64 bits? If not, install / reinstall it.

Maybe, you need to reinstall Xonar drivers again.

Or, from this trhead
