Question / Help Overload encoding issue

I have a i5-6600k and a nvidia 1070. Maybe half a hr to a hr my stream starts to skip and obs tells me encoding overload please lower video settings. Something like that. Is my cpu the problem? If so, I can upgrade to an i7 6700k with no problem. If anyone else has this problem please help. I play heroes of the storm. A moba if you dont know. Thank you for your help

Its a red flag to me that it doesn't happen until a half hour into the stream. To me that means something is overheating and throttling either your GPU or CPU. Check your temps. If they check out, do a 5 minute or longer test where the problem is occurring, and post the OBS log file from that session.
