Output to DirectShow Virtual Device/Webcam

Hello,

I know this has been asked many times before, but I was wondering whether there had been any change on the situation. It's not the most common use, but I'd love to have the option to use OBS's output as the source webcam for Skype or similar softwares. I could only find results about this feature that were more than 6-month old, and some stated that it was low-priority, others that it would become a priority after some other features were completed (like OBS being deprecated in favor of OBS Studio).

Of course a software mostly maintained by one person isn't going to receive tons of features that are deemed secondary, especially if they require a large time-investment to develop, but considering this hasn't been brought up for a while (as far as I could tell from the searches), I'll try my luck.

Hopefully it's not already a feature that I've somehow missed, and I'm not just being a complete moron...

Cheers.

It's not a feature you've missed, but unfortunately it's a feature that is apparently very painful to implement, which is why it hasn't been done.

That was my guess. It's not really surprising, considering how if it was easy to implement, there would probably be decent workarounds (some kind of interface that reads a video stream and acts as a directshow device), and there doesn't seem to be one without some kind of watermark or other annoying downside.

Anyway, thanks for your answer. Hopefully this becomes easier to implement at some point, it would definitely be a welcome feature.
