Hello, I use OBS to record my desktop. I don't care about the streaming features. I just use the record feature as I make videos and upload them to Youtube. My resolution is 3840x2160 and I also want OBS to output 3840x2160 4K .mp4 videos but your output is only 1080p.

Is there a plugin or modification I can do to accomplish my goal? Did the devs forget to add it? Makes no sense to have the Canvas screen 4K but not the output as well.

OR you could have chosen a streaming service that doesn't limit you to 1080p

As I said here,

I am not after streaming features. (Record Only). ".mp4 recorded videos". Again why it's not an option to go higher than 1080p is just silly. You can't even manually add the resolution size as you can with Canvas. I've already jumped to OBS for Streamlabs and look here. I am not a streamer. I use it for recording. It's a great application for that!

I am happy it at least has the feature, I was able to convert my settings and filters over. I am good. My only issue with OBS for Streamlabs is the Mixer spacing is too large of a gap, unlike OBS. Devs, update that on OBS because Streamlabs has it, why don't you.

You likely picked Facebook in your streaming settings, Facebook limits you to 1080p so OBS enforces the limit regardless of whether you're streaming since there can only be one canvas size.

It was set to Facebook. I just switched it to custom and it now lets me set a custom resolution of 3840x2160 in both Base and Output.
Thanks. I'll just stick with OBS now. Streamlabs for some reason doesn't snap the videos to the edges. Maybe a setting I missed but happy now. :)
