when i'm playing osu! while recording, there isn't any gameplay problems. but when I look back on the recording, there is noticeable lag. but the lag is only noticeable during actual gameplay, not when i'm in the menus.

Run OBS as administrator, and change your Color Format back to NV12 (don't use RGB -- this forces CPU handling, and reverts silently back to the old Nvenc encoder).
Also, run your monitor at 120hz instead of 144hz. Normally it's a minor issue, but for rhythm games it is very important to have a smooth framerate conversion.
