Hi, running OBS version 31.0.1 (64bit) on a Mac mini, Apple M4 chip, 10-Core CPU, 10-Core GPU, 16GB Unified Memory, macOS 15.3. I have the following settings in OBS:
Output > Recording
Recording Format: Matrosca Video (.mkv)
Video Encoder: Apple VT HEVC Hardware EncoderLog files
When I hit record I get the following error message: Starting the output failed. Please check the log details. Note if you are using NVENC or AMD encoders , make sure your video drivers are up to date.
If I change Video Encoder to: Apple VT 264 Hardware Encoder, I get the same error message, however if I change the Video Encoder to x264 it records OK.
I have updated the Mac Mini as I believe this will have updated my video drivers also. The weird thing is after updating the Mac Mini it recorded fine on all 3 Video Encoder setting, but then starting giving the error message again when using HEVC or VT 264, and now will only record on x264 again.
I have included the log file, I anyone has any suggestions of how to correct this it will be appreciated. I believe it is best to have the Video Encoder set to VT HEVC, but more than happy to take advice of great knowledge.
Thanks in advance.
