Option to remove the delay buffer

It seems OBS has a built in delay that occurs when the system has performance issues, which is understandable for removing stutter, but, in some cases, the delay can be several seconds long after doing some really intense computation (especially stuff that has excessive GPU utilization). As far as I can tell, the only way to get rid of the delay is to entirely stop the stream and start it back up again. It would be awesome if there were a way to simply press a button to remove the buffer entirely and skip ahead. It's really difficult to communicate with chat when the stream is delayed by like 30 seconds, and if I'm doing a lot of rendering or something on stream, repeatedly restarting the stream isn't really viable.
