Question / Help Optimizing Scenes

Hi,

since i`m a variety streamer, i`m using a few different scenes by now but i`m wondering if i can optimize this any further. But i cant answer this question on my own since i dont really know how OBS works in the background.

Currently i use one scene for each capturing method, camera left/right. today i wanted to add story/non-story (no alerts, no music, no teamspeak..) but since i already have 6 scenes, i would have 12 then (for any case)

I once used to have one scene with all capturing methods in it so i could switch on whatever was needed and disable the rest but i learned that this was quite cpu intensive since OBS seems to render captured stuff even if its switched off just for the case you switch it on. i seemed to have solved this by putting every capturing method into their own scene. It's a while ago now and could be changed since, but i never dared to check.

And now i have come to the conclusion that it also could be useful to use one scene for each game. it could get its own configuration. but what about the many capturing sources. will they interfere with each other? will they create extra cpu load?

My question is now: what is the best way now to set up your scenes?
- all capturing methods into one scene?
- one scene for each capturing method?
- one scene for each played game?
