Optimizing OBS with HD60pro

Hey everyone,

I've been streaming my PS4 to Twitch for a while, and I've been working to get my settings perfected. I'm still struggling with the quality of the stream. I get a lot of staggering, but it's almost never consecutive or timed. It's random. I've got my settings turned down pretty low, but still maintain an acceptable image of the stream. You can see my specs at the top of the log. My CPU doesn't go about 75% while I'm streaming. It's strange to me that I struggle this much with my elgato stream vs when I stream CS:GO or something that I have to run and stream at the same time. Below is what I think is what stands out. This is roughly 2 hours of streaming. Although, when looking back at the stream you can see that it's missing a lot of frames. It's killing my stream and I can't figure it out. I can lower the settings, sure, but it starts to distort my image. I have a GTX 750, and was reading somewhere that NVENC might be a better option.

Please give me some tips with my settings here. Willing to try just about anything.

If you want an example, I have a large archive at http://twitch.tv/bunpan666

17:15:35.993: Output 'adv_stream': Number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 26 (0.0%)
17:15:35.993: Output 'adv_stream': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 1745 (0.7%)

If your not recording your streams you can turn the elgato down to 720p30 so your cpu doesn't have to downscale for you. Maybe then increase quality to a slower setting to get better picture for your bitrate or more stable framerate.

That's a good tip, thank you. I've found that the issue is within OBS Studio itself. Even my preview is staggering. But in the elgato software it isn't. Everything runs very clean in that.

The elgato software lets you use cpu and gpu together which is nice. I couldn't ever get OBS to do it. My biggest issue is trying to record in 1080p60 (60MBps) and stream 720p30/60 at 3500 bits while keeping the encoding at veryfast or below.
