Question / Help OpenGL hook doubles ingamefps?

I'm a little bit confused about the OpenGL Hook of OBS Studio.

MSI Afterburner shows while game capturing OpenGL a back and forth switching of OpenGL and Direct3D10 Renderer API and also the fps is doubled as long as OBS captures.

I have vsync 120hz and the game is on 120hz, but as soon as I start game capture it goes to 240 fps.
Same for other OpenGL games. For Unreal it is doubled, but if I remember right for GZDoom it was more than doubled.

Does Afterburner see a wrong framerate? Or is it really that high fps then?
This behaviour is really strange to me, especially with vsync on.
