Dear all.
I'm new to forum, so sorry if i make some error to post.
I'm a streamer of videogames Smite, and i've always used OBS without any issues.
I use a 34inch monitor 144hz, and recorded/streaming at 2560x1080 60fps without any problem since now (i7 7700k and GTX1070hof with 32gb RAM tridentZ 3400mhz)
played always at 144fps when streaming or recording without ANY ISSUES

after a windows update (i think is the "game creator" update or how the hell is called) every times i open OBS (carefull, just OPEN not recording streaming) the FPS in game drops down of 70-80fps, idk why, i think it comes from "capture the window" but idk.
Anysuggestion?

BR,
Untoldzero

there are many d3d9_shmem_capture: GetRenderTargetData failed errors. so perhaps another user who can interpret this can help.

can u upload a log before the windows update?

actually i never had an issue, (and for sake, i have a gtx 1070 and an i7 7700k..the issues started after windows update..so i guess is it the problem..)

the problem i saw was in game (cuz i play at 144fps, while i recording at 60fps) :S but as u notice, just have obs open, causing issues :S idk wth they did with the update..

what does the fps in obs are, if u just open obs. did it reach the 60fps in the lower right corner, or did obs shown less then 60 and fluctuates while you switching scenes?

i think i will do a test and update my gaming rig to the new update too. lets see if that happen to this machine too. if so, we can definitely say its an windows update issue

This issue is happening to me after the Windows Creator update, yesterday OBS was running well, without FPS drops. I think there is an issue with OBS (game capture) and the new Windows update.

is stable, at 60fps in the right cornel, the problem is in game, that's are not stable at 120/144fps like always but drops to 60-80 (and when u have a 144hz panel u notice it..)

just found this post on the wow forums

Hmm looks like the new update may have introduced a "Fullscreen Optimization" setting in the Compatibility settings for applications. Mind checking the compatibility settings for WoW.exe and WoW-64.exe and see if that setting exists? If so let's disable it and give the game a try.
