Question / Help Only Mic audio? No game/other capture

So when streaming to Twitch, I've noticed when I have music playing in the background, or am trying to play a game, it won't capture anything but my voice. I've tried looking up ways to fix this problem but none have helped.
What is also strange is that when I'm playing music, or playing a game, it moves the mic/aux bar as if I'm speaking, but the desktop audio bar doesn't move, but it doesn't capture any of that audio except for my voice.

Provided are screen shots of my audio options and the mixer bars.

What are your Windows settings? If you aren't seeing a level on your mixer it makes me think that your Windows default Audio output is not set to Speakers (Realtek...).

My Realtek Audio High Definition speakers are set to default already. I've even played around with selecting each device to use specifically and none of them worked, including basic "default".

Actually now that you say that I do have an output device that says it's not plugged in.. but considering I'm using a laptop and the only things I've plugged into this thing were headphones, I'm not sure what to do to make that work.

You need to check what is happening in Windows. If you plug a headset in wouldn't you want the audio to come through the headphones? In which case you'd need to select the headset in your Desktop Audio Device config.

The audio does come through the headphones when plugged in. Another strange thing is that my headset doesn't have it's own audio device.

OK my bad when I mentioned different audio devices; I just checked on my laptop to see what actually happens, I was expecting a USB headset which has it's own audio device so sorry about that.

On my laptop I set it up as you have done and it works fine. So a couple of questions

1) If you play some music when OBS Studio is running do you see a level in the mixer, do you see a level in Windows Sound, Playback Devices
2) Can you screenshot your Windows Sound Playback tab and upload it.

When I play music while running OBS, it shows the mic/aux audio bar move.
And actually, upon testing this for you, I did notice that my default audio device is not even playing the sound (despite still hearing sound). It's weird because its not showing anything is playing the sound.

Edit: I noticed something VERY strange: I left for work, closing my laptop (sleep mode), came home and audio sounded normal with OBS Studio open. Check the sound devices menu and sounds working as it normally should. Mess with some settings in OBS, audio goes very quiet... Close OBS and audio goes back to normal... What if my problem with OBS is OBS itself?
