Only low resolution with virtual camera via Zoom

Hi there,
I'm using Zoom (with license) and OBS for hybrid workshops and presentations with the virtual Camera of OBS and Audio Cable driver for the sound. But my Problem is the stream resolution.
While all settings are made to have a HD stream, the viewer only gets a 360p stream.
Now I realised, when I click on "Share Screen" and select a screen as streaming source, it is HD. But not when I use the (virtual) camera-source.
This even makes some sense to me but here I'm stuck. I can't chose the OBS source here.
Is this a common thing? I couldn't google it properly...
It would help me to be able to select the OBS output not as a virtual camera but as a "virtual desktop source", but there seems to be no way.

Does anyone has a clue for me on that?

Thanks!

Hi Sam,
in Zoom when you share, click the second tab "advanced" and then click on "Content from 2nd camera".

The word "second" does not make too much sense here. I have a total of 5, so what the hell.

Anyway: what the button does is it shares the content of a real or virtual camera. You'll then have to manually enumerate through them until you share the right one. (That means: you cannot pre-select the one you want when you start sharing). So just keep selecting the next one by clicking the button that appears on the upper left corner of the sharing window until you share your virtual OBS camera.

PM me if you still have issues.

Hi falti,

thanks a lot, this really solved my issue!
Well, this and another page of instructions I had to write for the lecturer ...

Zoom really needs a UI/UX overhaul. How can a so bad designed service be so expensive... and successful.

Have a great week

You're welcome

I agree they could do a few things...on the other hand compare it to that other tool made by you-know-who-I-mean... ;-)

Cheers

Thanks a tonne! This helped to solve the SCREEN resolution issue. However, another issue came up which is lag of audio-video being out of sync. :(

You're welcome.

Yes, I noticed that too. Now with my scene complexities and the nvidia RTX 3060 TI the delay is ~250msec and participants tell me it's acceptable.
You can try adding "virtual cable" functionality with a configurable audio delay (look it up in this forum and also google it...). I admit: I tried and did not get it to work. If you find a way, please let me know
