Question / Help One day to another youtube streaming is lagging/choppy

Member
Without installing anything new (any), using the same configuration in obs or in the game, with the upload speed and connection ok (same as the firsts and well done videos and checked every day); from streaming at 1440p perfectly to start with lagging at any resolution, even at 1080p.

From perfectly streaming to lagging using exactly the same parameters... Somebody notice this starting on saturday aprox. ?

I'm going to try another program to see if it's happen using another streaming tool, I'm losing my head right now...

Some update:

With "the other program" the results are worst. Same setup, new nvenc, etc. Worst. Even getting down the bitrate (my conection is perfect but for check things..), nothing improves.

I don't understand nothing. Maybe some normal windows update from last 2 days ? or Youtube problem ?

Update:

I tried using Chrome (I was using Firefox), and the stream looks like before. I have to test more but no lag and no choppy stream. I will keep updating the situation and maybe open a thread advising for a posible Firefox issue.

Update 2:

I recorded 3 clips (streams) using Chrome seems to solve the problem BUT the streaming now looks like going on 30 fps instead 60. It's fluid but not 60 fps fluid. It's weird... At least now is not choppy but anyway it looks like all this is not working properly.

I will continue testing in some hours.

Another test:

Dropping bitrate, using 1080p instead 1440p; the results are worst. O_O

... I'm surrending how it's possible all this.. nonsense to me.

Someone knows something about this please ?

Update 36:

I checked "use new network core" (or something like) in Advance-config and reset my router.. It SEEMS better this way but still not the fluidity of 60 fps like before all this happend.

Heelppppp

Improves ¿?:

I just finished a streaming test and it was like before (close to) just changing B-frames to 1 instead 2. I don't know if Sekiro is a too fast game for the frames or what or if there is another causes for this improve, but that test stream looks perfect to me.

Ah.. and also change bicubic filter to lacszos. Don't tell me why because I don't reescale nothing but that improves the stream and even the recording comparing to Bicubic filter.

... I'm checking this test again and still not the fluidity of before. Better but the issue still there.

Without examining the parts of a log that record a streaming or recording session to see what is causing the lag you see, there's not much point in making adjustments. Without such a log you can't tell whether it is caused by network, GPU, or encoder, and without knowing that, you won't know what to adjust to fix it.

Yeh but I made changes to test, in fact there was significant changes -for better- between first problems and now. That log is from my last test, and that test was very ok.. I don't know if there will be problems there.

No output session in the log.

The problem with changing things without looking at the logs, is that now you don't know what change you made fixed your problem-- not all of them may have been necessary. (Some might actually have made things worse!)

Well increasing audio buffering isn't necessarily a good sign, but otherwise, no. You need to start an output session (streaming or recording) and then complete it before uploading a log, because performance data is written when a session stops. The idea is to run the session long enough to see the problem you're trying to troubleshoot.

Now turning off fullscreen optimization on game executable. It improved a lot the streaming.

Anyway I continue searching and changing settings to find a good spot to start streaming again whether or not the issue still.

Every time I read a post like this, no one seems to know what it is or how to fix it. I've been up 24 hours straight trying to fix this. It's like an obsession. I cannot fix it and I need to in order to continue making videos. Same problem for me. It's only stuttering in the videos. Only display capture removed the issue but I can't rely on that for recording. So what in the world is this and why does it happen? It's so bizarre! And it only happens in Metro Exodus at the moment in this certain area, in the open snow. Everywhere else is smooth. Game is fine, its just the recording showing it.

More absurdness to this.. I rise bitratefrom 18k to 20k, change again to Max Quality and it goes pretty ok.

BUT it's obvious to me that OBS has a problem with fullscreen optimization since some days ago (because I had it ON the first days with nio problems) because now if I turn it off my stream goes better.

I hope new OBS update come faster because there is some weird stuff here.

I dunno if your problem is the same as mine but I've been doing testing for more than 24 hours. I got some kind of results by setting the game to 1280x720 and it's almost perfectly smooth now in the recording. Obviously I don't want to play like that but when I up the game back to 1920x1080, the stuttering is showing in the video.

my gameplay high settings at 1080p is smooth but during recording, it lags not on the gameplay but the recorded obs vid. it becomes usable only if i set the gameplay setting to 780p..

im experimenting and the final verdict is medium+720p setting. lol. obs made me play on medium, i was supposed to be enjoying it smoothly with high+1080p.

the attachment was with high settings + 1080p with OBS recording, simple config, NVEC, medium size.

PS: i guess geforce experience is the way to go rn.
