OBS / Zoom - blurring parts of the image

I'm having trouble when I have my webcam's focus locked. In the OBS screen it looks perfect. But then it falls apart in zoom. I'm an art teacher, and need to have my camera's focused locked on my drawing because when I move my hand around over my paper while doing a demo I need the artwork to stay in focus instead of the camera refocusing on my hand. I've tried numerous webcams, and I'm having the same issue with all of them - the issue only arises in zoom. The image always stays focused on my drawing on my OBS screen. It's only blurs in zoom. I don't have the background blur enabled in zoom, so that's not the issue. There is something related happening with the webcam that is pointed at my face for zoom meetings. If doesn't matter whether I select the webcam directly in the zoom app, or whether I use the camera through OBS (selecting OBS camera in zoom). The same thing happens. Zoom does something with the image to keep my face in focus, and blur the background (again the background blurring function is disabled). But everything is clear when I bring it up in facetime or on my OBS screen. This doesn't seem to be an OBS problem per se, but I thought someone here may have experienced something similar, and may know if there is a setting in zoom that I'm missing. I've spent hours trying to figure this out, and I'm at a loss.
