OBS / Zoom audio distortion (Mac)

Hoping for help. Thanks in advance.
We are running a zoom call through OBS for streaming through Youtube Live. The issue we are encountering is that after a call has been running for about 8 minutes or so we start to get some distortion of the audio that builds and eventually overwhelms it. This is only happening on the computer handling the stream. The audio feed going to to YouTube live is unaffected. We are running audio through iSHowU Audio Capture. Advanced audio settings are set to track 1 only. We created a multi output device in Audio Midi set up. ANy ideas appreciated. Thank you.

It sounds like you have an echo building up over time due to an audio synchronization issue. A headset to listen to the audio vs on the mac speakers should instantly fix this issue to keep you working.

Some things to try in the meantime:
  • Try a demo of Loopback by Rogue Amoeba. If the issue doesn't happen in the demo, you'll have a better idea as to where the issue is happening. Yes I know it's $99 but how much is your time worth?
  • OBS Versions before 26 seem to have less problems with Audio. Note you will need to install the virtual camera if you are using it.
