Question / Help OBS .x264 or Avermedia .x264?

Hello,

I have an avermedia live gamer HD in my streaming pc and I just noticed under the encoding options I have a choice between a generic obs x.264 encoder or I can select my avermedia .x264 encoder. Is there a quality difference at all while streaming? I noticed that with the Avermedia encoded I don't get all the cpu preset settings and whatnot. I just have the bitrate.

You can't use the avermedia encoder while using the card to capture.

That encoder option would just be for recording then I take it:?

you have a choice, you either use the encoder component of the card or the capture component of the card. Doesn't matter if you're streaming or recording.
