Hey y'all, I'm having an issue where OBS won't run as admin. I've tried running it as such through the windows search bar, the file location, and a shortcut and nothing happens when I do this. A couple days ago I found that running it as admin from the file location was the only way it would work, but now it nothing will open it as such. Thanks for any help you can give me

Try this: Right-click on your OBS shortcut --> Properties --> From Shortcut tab click on [Advanced...] --> Check box for "Run as Administrator" --> [OK] --> [Apply] --> [OK].

I'm having this problem too. I have to run OBS at normal privilages or it just hangs Windows Explorer and displays an hourglass cursor.
Funny thing is I was able to launch OBS ONE TIME as admin, but when I closed it, it would no longer open. I unchecked Admin from the icon and it starts up now.

Use Task Scheduler to create a task that opens OBS as Admin. Then create a shortcut with Target: C:\Windows\System32\schtasks.exe /run /tn "NameOfTask"

This is what I do now. No pop-up asking to run as Admin.

Still no idea why OBS won't start when run as Admin. Just hangs Explorer. Have to restart to regain control of PC again.
