Question / Help OBS Won't open...Please help!!! Losing my mind!

Hello everybody!

I am a long time user of OBS but newbie to the forums. For the last few months I have spent countless hours trying to open OBS consistently after using the program for over a year without any issues on the exact same computer.

I have read through many forum posts and some people seem to have experienced the same problem dating back all the way to 2016.

I don't see a definitive fix or why exactly this is occurring however. Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Here is what's going on:

-I try to start OBS, but nothing happens.
-I try to start OBS again and it tells me that another instance of this program is already running.
-When checking the task manager, it does show OBS as a process but the program is not physicially open. Not in system tray, not in task bar.

Things I have done:
- Rebooted my system
- uninstalled and reinstalled OBS
- Uninstalled Team viewer as well as any other screen capture software
-Complete system scan using paid version of AVG

I am so frustrated currently as I am not able to record anything for my Youtube channel and I don't have a clue what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reboot system
Run OBS

Does it show?
- If not, check task manager to see if it is running
- If it is running go to the system tray and unhide it.

You should be posting a log.

Task manager has it running as a process. It is nowhere to be found in system tray however.
I can open up countless instances and they will all be showing as running processes but OBS does not ever actually open up.
I can post a log when I get home but I have read many posts with users having this same exact problem. I just hoped there has been a universal fix for this.
