OBS won't open on M1 iMac

When I first set it up, everything worked great, but now it won't even open.

Here's what happens:
I click OBS, it bounces a few times, then stops bouncing. My webcam LED turns on, indicating that an app (OBS) is using it, but OBS never shows up in the menu bar or has the dot below the icon on the dock indicating it's open. When trying to delete, finder says it can't because it's open, but I can't close it because it won't open to begin with.

I have tried restarting and reinstalling, but the same thing happens; on first click, it bounces for a few seconds then stops, camera led turns on and that's it.

Maybe I accidentally updated my OS and that broke things? I also got a longer USB C cable to reach my set up, wondering if that might affect anything? I still get a signal and can record with QuickTime, though.

Stats:
M1 iMac, 16 GB ram
Mac OS 12.4
HD60 X
Latest version of OBS
USB C 3.2 gen 2 cable

Pls help... I don't know what to do.

Here's a video I made documenting my new capture card and OBS works perfectly at first:
