Question / Help OBS won't open, help!

I just downloaded OBS for the first time and had it setup and running. Added scenes, game windows, overlays, audio, etc with no problem. Tested local recordings fine too.

When I got to setting up the webcam I was having some issues - the video worked in 1 scene, but not another. So I shut everything down and rebooted (just in case) and now OBS Studio won't even open - a screen flashes and then disappears and if I try to open it again I get a message saying:
"OBS is already running! Unless you meant to do this... blah blah blah"
I get the option to 'Launch Anyway' or cancel. Launching anyway just repeats the process of not opening, but apparently running in the background.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but same issue exists.

Anyone know what is going on or how I can fix it???

Fixed! combed through old posts and found 1 suggestion to remove settings folder. Doing this fixed the issue and forced OBS to re-setup.

Reached the right folder by typing this into the windows run box: %APPDATA%\obs-studio

Then, renamed the obs-studio folder (tagged the end with a '-old') and launched OBS again (make sure OBS is closed before changing settings folder!)

hopefully this helps someone else in the future.
