So OBS has been working fine for me for awhile now, in more recent times mind you. Nothing changed or updated on my computer, but all of sudden, OBS stopped opening for me. I would click the icon, nothing would happen, but when I checked task manager, it was running in the background, nowhere to be found, not in taskbar or anything. So I went located the program folder and deleted the json file and whatever else was in that particular folder, in relation to my scenes I had setup. After that it opened up just fine, but I had to rebuild all my scenes, luckily my settings were still intact. After I rebuilt all my scenes, I closed the program and tried reopening it again. Same problem. Now I'm frustrated, because I have a lot of scenes and transitions setup, I can't do this everytime I need to use the program. Long story short, I've been reading and found that a lot of other people are having the same issue without a solution. Also this was happening for me on 2 different computers, so its not a hardware issue. I hope someone posts a fix for this soon.
In the meantime, I found a workaround. Go to the folder that includes the global.ini file. double click on the update icon, whether it updates or not, it will show a button that says 'launch OBS.' this will now be how you launch the program everytime until a fix is issued. Hope this helps someone out.
