Hello all!
I having this trouble for some time, I already google, searched the forums and watched a loooooot of YouTube videos trying to solve this.
I would like to record in Window mode, as I want to use the computer at the same time and not passing a window in front of the recording.
But in window mode, the FPS of the video are vey low. The video is choppy.
And it is not the problem of CPU or HDD performance because this problem even occurs when I'm not recording, even in the preview window.
If I switch to Desktop Mode, it is 100% fluid, but I have the problem of sometimes passing other windows in the front.
In window mode, I'm talking about a simple scrolling down a browser page or seeing an Youtube video.
It is low framerate in the OBS preview window, no problem at all at real computer user experience.
In desktop mode, no problem at all.
I am not talking running a game or streaming.
Just recording a simple video or scrolling the browser.
In recording, the problem maintains equal, it doesn't get better or worse.
It is like the problem is in the input and not the recording or encoding.
What would be the setting here?
Already have been messing with resolution, bitrate, x264 software or apple hardware encoding, everything the same.
When recording @ 1080p, my CPU max at 25% an with hardware encoding max at 15%.
My hardware is this:
macOS Catalina just updated latest version (10.15.7)
iMac 27-Inch "Core i5" 3.1 (5K, 2019)
3.1 GHz Core i5 (I5-8600)
Retina 5K, 27-Inch, 2019
iMac19,1
RAM 24GB 2667 MHz DDR4
VRAM Radeon Pro 575X 4 GB
Storage 1 TB (Fusion)
I have the desktop mode working perfectly, just wanted the window mode to work so I can use my computer while recording, without being afraid of passing another window in the front.
Thank you very much to you all.
