I want to capture Xbox Series X gameplay with an Elgato 4K60 S+. On the TV I play with 3840x2160 and 60 Hz. The PC running OBS has a monitor with a maximum resolution of 3840x1600 (ultra wide).
First of all: Elgato 4k Capture Utility works. There is almost no latency and recordings are in 4K with good image quality.
With OBS, things are different here. There is a noticeable lag of almost a second. While I can play directly through the Elgato software, this is not possible with OBS. In addition, OBS only saves recordings in 3840x1600, 1080p or 720p - and that too with a very low bit rate. In the source settings, the resolution is set to 3840x2160. In the video settings, however, I can only select a maximum of 3840x1600 as the screen resolution. Same with the scaled output resolution. I can manually enter 3840x2160 there, but then the saved videos are in 4K, but blurred.
Basically, recordings in 1080p would also be okay for me. However, the bit rate is very low and is around 2800 kbit/s. A recording of 15 minutes has a file size of 270 MB. This is not enough for an acceptable image quality.
Can someone help me? I am very grateful for every tip.
