Hey guys
So I'm looking at putting together a livestreaming rig that I can feed multiple cameras into. My plan is to feed 3-4 cameras via HDMI into a Blackmagic ATEM switcher, and have audio come in seperately using a Mackie 8 channel USB mixer. I want to add these both to OBS on a laptop as video and audio sources respectively. Then use OBS to stream to Facebook, Youtube etc and overlay logos and/or text. In theory this should work.
Now, before I buy the equipment to kick this off I wanted to see if you guys had suggestions on how this could work better?
Regarding feeding the ATEM switcher into the laptop... I've looked at using something like a HDMI capture card like the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle (the USB3 version), or perhaps bypassing that and going into a Blackmagic Web Presenter (I think this would make the video a bit more 'stream' friendly).
Regarding the USB mixer, will this work similar to any other USB mixer being fed into OBS? I recall having issues with my Behringer Q802 USB and getting just one microphone to work correctly (with monitoring). If I use a Mackie 8 channel USB desk feeding all 8 channels into the stream, would this actually work?
I had read that another piece of (paid) software could take the USB H264 feed from the ATEM switcher and make it useable without the need for a capture card... but I can't really find any more info or videos on that.
Regarding audio and video sync... I've read there is a way to change the audio sync with video, where do I find these settings?
Thanks guys, any advice and help would be appreciated.
