Question / Help OBS Windows cropping videos automatically

Everything seems to be in order from what I can see...My monitor is 1920x1080, my canvas and scaled resolutions are both set to that, I've got it set to "fit to screen" and everything is inside the red box on the preview, but it only seems to crop things once it's done recording. I had it working perfectly earlier but now I can't seem to find what I changed.

I'm new to OBS so most likely it's just something dumb I'm looking over, but for the life of me I can't tell what it is, so any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Can you post a screenshot of your obs window?

Hope this works lol, might be hard to see, but everything looks inside the border for me. When the recording is finished it's cropped like halfway through the browser tab and a bit on the sides.

How are you viewing back the recording?

I tried Windows Media Player as well as whatever "Movies and TV" is. I also tried uploading videos to Facebook and Imgur and they yielded the same result. I decreased the preview size a little bit and that seems to have worked... is that how people normally have it?

No. Everything shown in the preview should be going directly to the recording. Just to be sure, right-click on the preview and ensure Preview Scaling is set to "Scale to Window".

View the recording in VLC. The built in windows media player can't be relied on for proper playback. If it also has the cropping happening, please post a screenshot of the recording playback.

Ah, okay. VLC seems to be showing the full video. Thanks, lol. Good lord it seems even more choppy, though. Ah, well. I'll get a new video and see how it plays out.
