Question / Help OBS Webcam gives colored bars

Hey guys,

Currently running OBS on a Windows Surface Book. Whenever I try to get video from the front webcam (on same side as screen), the video has vertical green and red hue bars across the whole thing. This remains in any recorded video, but doesn't exist if I record video using different software with the same camera. Also, OBS doesn't have those bars if I try to use the rear camera instead of the front.

Any ideas on how to solve this? I haven't been able to solve it with anything in the "Configure video" tab.

System specs:
Processor: i5-6300 @ 2.4GHz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: NVidia GForce GPU (whatever the native one is)

Ok so did you ever find a fix for this? I haven't had this problem until now. I am using a surface book to stream my gf game through a capture card and am getting the same problem.

I actually did, sorry for not posting it earlier.

Try going to the properties for the video capture device, where it lets you choose which camera and tweak those settings. Change video format from "Any" to "YUY2". That got rid of the bars for me.
