OBS + VirtualCam without admin privileges

Great, that I can run OBS without installation on my professional notebook.

The plug-in VirtualCam (with I’d say especially business people in focus) needs admin privileges to install - any chance to bypass this (or any alternative), as I do not have admin rights on my notebook?!

Thanks, any hint appreciated.

This is not possible, as it requires installing a (virtual) device driver. Which requires Admin permissions.
Contact your IT department and request that it be installed; if you're allowed to have OBS on your business hardware, they should be able to deploy it without any problem.
Otherwise, I'd recommend looking up the company policy on uncertified software on company assets... had a coworker at my last job that did this and ended up canned as a result (though to be fair, it was in a sensitive industry).

thanks for your reply - understood.

Another approach - I own a HDMI-capturing device for USB - this device is detected by teams, zoom, etc as "webcam" - so I can feed an external HDMI stream into this device and can use it there.

Any idea, whether a similar device exists, which can be used via USB and can be fed via OBS???
