OBS Virtual Camera Feed to Zoom Shows Nothing

Greetings,

First, let me say I'm a new user to OBS, but think I've set things up as needed yet still get a "blank" result on Zoom with the OBS Virtual Camera selected.

I'm running OBS v26.1.2+dfsg1-2 on Debian 11 (Bullseye) installed from the repository. I've also install the 'v4l2loopback-dkms (0.12.5-1)' from the repo. I now get the virtual camera in OBS, start it, and then when I launch Zoom (5.9.3 (1911) - latest for Deb11), the OBS virtual camera does show up in the camera list under settings. However, the Zoom display is blank/blank/light grey (in settings or actually sharing the virtual camera). If I turn off the virtual camera in OBS, the display does not change within Zoom. So it seems as if Zoom is just not getting the OBS virtual camera feed.

Per other posts, I do have windows showing on my main OBS screen and when I record, the resulting video is as expected...a recording of the scene with configured sources (currently, just two windows - no camera sources).

Any ideas? For example, does OBS recording (or streaming) have to be "start"ed in order for this to work? Any help would be appreciated.
TIA

Update: Still nothing getting to Zoom, but VokoscreenNG (3.0.7) and VLC (3.0.16) (both from repository) are able to see/show the virtual web cam. So I'm not sure if it's a output format issue on OBS, or just Zoom. I have noticed Zoom on Linux is seriously lacking compared to its Windows/Mac counterparts.
