Question / Help OBS VIDEO LAGGING

I've read through all of the threads here and still have no solution.
c920 logitech Webcam and VLC run perfectly on the machine, however, when trying to open either in OBS they both lag out the point of crashing the program. Im familiar with OBS so I've adjusted every setting and watched every tutorial I could find on the topic. Still having issues.

Heres my specs:
Mac Pro Tower EArly 2008
x 2 2.8 ghz Quadcore Intel Xeon
16 gb 667 mhz DDR2
NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1536 MB

Update OBS. Version 18 is very old. Current is 20.x.

Hiya. When you say video lag. do you mean there is a lip sync problem? Sorry I'm quite new to this. My OBS has a lip sync problem. .

I Originally tried Obs 20.x and it had the same issue. I backdated to see if there was an older version that may be more compatible.

Any other thoughts? Any video I load in, be it VLC or Webcam is incredibly laggy and uses way too much cpu.
