OBS Upscaling Details

Hello!

Im recording gameplay in 1080p (native resolution) and rescaling the footage to 1440p in the Video tab. The 1440p footage looks great!

Here's what I would love to know:

1) What filter is OBS using to perform the upscale?
2) Do we only have control over DOWNscale filters, or is there actually an option to choose an UPscale filter? (I have the filters set to "Area", but I'm assuming that's only for downscaling?)

I'm only curious, because I've tried to upscale the 1080p footage to 1440p in Vegas Pro, and the results are simply not as good as OBS.

Any insights would be very much appreciated!

Thank you!

Guys for what i know obs doesn't have an upscaler. The only one i've found is this one https://github.com/Xaymar/obs-Strea...super-resolution-powered-by-nvidia-broadcast- but is buggy and locked to streamfx plugin. It will be TOP if someone will develope a plugin based on that one using nvidia super resolution, that is a REAL and effective upscaler who works really well.

I coincidentally developed exactly what you were asking for last year! I didn't like how much of a pain in it was to use StreamFX since they went pay to use, nor their exact implementation.
I wanted to do live capture from my PSP and was curious how the upscaling effect would look on it's extremely low native resolution, and after a few tests decided I would put in the effort.
