OBS to ZOOM without virtual Cables?

I'm a musician and have been using OBS and ZOOM on my Macbook Pro for the last few months. Unfortunately its a 2014 and it can't keep up with what I am asking it to do. So after lots of research in comes the Acer Predator Orion 3000 to my life. I have to admit I like how it gets along with OBS.

I've spent the last few days trying get acclimatized to the Windows 10 world. Especially trying to get used to the Sound Control panel.

So my question is... does it make sense that I don't seem to need to use virtual cables to get zoom audio in sync with the OBS virtual Cam?

My wireless lav and all other audio ( acoustic instruments, overhead mics, looper, and electronic instruments) are fed into a Behringer X1222USB Premium 12-Input 2/2-Bus Mixer, then to a Scarlett 2I2 USB interface then into the computer.

I set it up so I can record in OBS without any issues at 1080P.

But everywhere I read that you need to use virtual cables to to Zoom along with OBS Virtual Cam.

o i got them and when I tried to add the Virtual Cable A as a Audio Output Capture to go from OBS to ZOOM ( did the appropriate setup in setting / Audio), I'd end up with an echo on the OBS side. ( Zoom recordings seemed fine - no echos there)

I tried lots of ways to get rid of it but it turned out that just having ZOOM get it's sound from the Audio interface worked best.

Zoom is now set up with my interface as the mic and the speaker is the Codec USB to my mixer and to my IEM. And everything syncs up with OBS virtual cam. I didn't think it was supposed to work like that.

I welcome your input. Thanks.
