Question / Help OBS suddenly kills general performance

i've been using OBS for a couple weeks now and really happy about switching, and suddenly whenever it's opened it kills the performance of my entire computer, most noticeable in games as where i previously was able to record at 60 fps suddenly without even recording i can't even make it to 30.

this happened after i set some stuff up for streaming last evening, but i find it unlikely that that is the problem as that evening i had no problem running games to see if it all works.

i hope someone can help me with this because i did prefer OBS over recording with shadowplay and audacity, and being able to stream is always fun.

Turn Windows 10 Game DVR and Game Bar off (system settings -> games)

16:45:32.423: - scene 'video recording':
16:45:32.423: - source: 'Beeldschermcapture' (monitor_capture)
16:45:32.423: - source: 'Gamecapture' (game_capture)
If possible, just use game_capture, not monitor_capture and game_capture at the same time.

will do, but i can't confirm if it works. suddenly the the massive performance hit seems to be gone. and it's not like it was fixed after rebooting (i of course tried that before contacting support). after half a day it suddenly seems to work again.

i also say that the windows 10 game stuff was on (in the log), but i couldn't find it (fuck microsoft for making it so hard to not use that fucking this no one wants, i had to log into the xbox program just to turn it off.).

thanks for all the help.
