Question / Help OBS Suddenly can't record without horrible lag?

Hello, so today I was going to record some videos for my channel, but OBS has decided to become very laggy. I am getting very skippy frames and bad quality. I installed 16.6 (I was running 16.5) and the problem continued. I have uninstalled/ reinstalled and deleted OBS from my AppData, but the problem persists. I think this might be an issue with my GPU not encoding this time, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the problem. (I am a noob so get mad at my if it is obvious :P)

And before you go crazy, I have always had my bitrate at 200,000 and nothing changed even when lowering it.. I hope someone is able to help though!

I have lowered bitrate, I do get this error saying my encoder is overloaded even though my I7 is parking at 3.80 MINIMUM and using 20%... My Nvidia drivers are also fully up to date now.

You can put CQP in Rate Control and disable 2-pass. Probably that change going improve your framerate ingame and stop " freezings " in recorded videos.
