I am just getting started with OBS, so my apologies if I'm making simple mistakes! I am running a brand new system, i7 6700K, Geforce 1070, and 16GB of RAM. When the stuttering is occuring the CPU usage is around 20% so I can't see that being the problem.

I'm currently just at the trial and error stage of learning how to make videos and stream, and unfortunately running into a lot of error! :( Another problem I am having is that it won't let me "game capture" so I have to "display capture" instead. It may be the specific title I'm experimenting with (Banished) that is giving me the problem.

Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Why aren't you using the simple mode presets? Advanced mode generally indicates that you have an idea of what you're doing. Those settings are kinda not great.

Use the recording quality presets under Settings > Output when in Simple output mode. In the recording section, change the Recording Quality to Indistinguishable Quality, and then select your encoder (NVENC).

I guess I am using the Advanced mode because I was going off suggestions I got from YouTube videos. If my settings are kinda not great, then what should I change? What is wrong with them? I'd like to learn...

I forgot to point out in my original post that the video quality comes out perfectly fine when I play it, it's only the display of OBS that is stuttering...
