OBS stuttering even when im not Streaming / Recording (in Preview Window)

Hey everyone,
I’ve been trying to fix the stuttering in my OBS preview for two days now. I recently got a new PC with a 5080 graphics card. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled OBS, and only added my 4K Pro Capture Card as a source to see if that would fix the problem — unfortunately, it didn’t.


I’ve already tried different settings in OBS, but I don’t think the issue is with OBS itself. The image also becomes slightly blurry and starts stuttering. I’m trying to record my PS5 gameplay. The game itself runs smoothly, but the OBS preview lags — even when I’m not streaming or recording.


I really hope someone can help me out, I’m getting desperate.

do you have a normal webcam you can connect? remove the 4k cap card from the sources and see if the webcam stutters. might be the capture card, anything is possible.

Hello,
the video is stuttering only when using the capture card.
I have tested it both in the Elgato 4K Capture Utility and in Elgato Stream Studio, and the video stutters in both applications.
The firmware is already up to date.
Unfortunately, I don’t know what else to do.

Firmware: 1.1.0.202.1.5

In this case you should contact Elgato support as it's an issue on their product.
May be related to the resolution as you use 1080p and probably the capture card should be set to this resolution too.
