OBS Studio With and Without "Run as Administrator"

Hi all


Sometimes I see people mention running OBS Studio with "Run as Administrator".

Can you please tell me where there is a difference between these 2 options?

Running OBS as admin allows it to dedicated GPU resources to itself, so a game running at max FPS will not steal GPU from OBS and stop it from rendering. It also allows global detection of hotkeys since it can read keypresses in other programs running as admin. Unfortunately you lose the drag+drop to add sources, since programs running as admin can't be dropped on to.
