Question / Help OBS Studio suddenly not recording any audio after restart

Hi. I restarted my computer, and OBS Studio is suddenly not recording/streaming any audio even though the "Desktop Audio" bar shows audio being detected. I have not changed any settings in OBS Studio whatsoever.

Does anybody have any idea why this is happening? Before you ask, I *did* try to upgrade to the latest version of OBS Studio, but it made things even worse: OBS Studio refused to detect NVENC on my GPU and wouldn't even record at all. I downgraded back to the previously working version.

Okay, well after looking through the logs and trying various things, I can't believe it, but installing iTunes for the CoreAudio AAC Encoder worked.

What the heck...

Whatever, I'll leave this here for posterity for any Googlers who encounter this issue as well.
