I've been using OBS classic for probably ~3 months now and I have not had any problems. I finally decided to take the leap and try out OBS studio, which I actually like the new user interface and a lot of the features.. I having problems w/ skipped frames due to encoding and I have no idea why.. as far as I know I'm using the same settings in classic! Please help!

OBS Studio
19:02:21.728: Output 'simple_stream': Total encoded frames: 13533
19:02:21.729: Output 'simple_stream': Total drawn frames: 13533
19:02:21.729: Output 'simple_stream': Number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 3330 (24.6%)
19:02:21.729: Output 'simple_stream': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 68 (0.5%)

This is a log file from the same night on OBS classic
22:02:16: Total frames encoded: 322750, total frames duplicated: 1012 (0.31%)
22:02:16: Total frames rendered: 322667, number of late frames: 44 (0.01%) (it's okay for some frames to be late)

I'm going to guess that you're running CS:GO without vsync or any sort of FPS limit, allowing it to more or less max out your hardware before OBS is even running. Either turn on vsync or use the fps_max cvar to cap your frame rate at something more reasonable.

So.. if I'm using a 144hz monitor should I limit it to fps_max 144 for example?
Oh and why would this not matter on classic? Thoughts?
