Question / Help OBS Studio random freezes

Ive ben streaming for a while now and update obs like 4 times now in the process but it keeps coming back. First time i saw this happening was back with Rainbow Siege, obs was streaming fine until about 10 min preview screen freezes and everyone in chat is asking what happened, stream died. so now its the same exact thing happening with the new game titanfall 2 and was wondering if anyone knows a fix for this?

i know posting a log would be helpful but there is none which is strange

I am having the exact same issue. I have to close OBS to fix it. The preview picture stops and the number in the bottom right turns to 0 kbs. Some times it happens every few minutes after i start the stream. Sometimes it happens after a few hours of streaming.

It sounds like both of you are having the Windows 10 AU issue, but without logs it's hard to say for sure.

Sadly I'm not the most computer savvy, so not sure how to get you logs but I did find this other thread and yes that does sound like exactly what's happening.

OBS Studio has a built-in log upload feature. It's mentioned in the post that I linked earlier.

Apologies, was looking in the wrong obs folder (yes i have both obs installed lol)

This only happens with 2 games

• Rainbow Six Siege
• Titanfall 2

Any other game i stream works perfectly fine, i have to resort back to xsplit which i hate so much lol the quality is worse compared to obs with the same settings sadly :(

It doesn't always happen and it doesn't happen with all games.

From your log:

That confirms my earlier suspicion that you are having the Windows 10 AU issue. Try the workarounds listed.

Not trying to pick sides here but why does xSplit work fine in this situation? ( yes i am really confused and i did read that post btw)

Because xsplit does not use the GPU as heavily as OBS.
