OBS Studio on hosted virtual machine in DC

Greetings
My team manages global live events for our organization and we are now using OBS with NDI through Teams, Zoom and WebEx. My question is, can we run OBS Studio from a data center hosted virtual machine? Is there a guideline for this with requirements and does this align with best practice?

My concern for running this application from each producers laptop is the capacity of the laptop to receive and broadcast multiple NDI streams as well as the BW availability for each producer (home network). Remoting in to a hosted server running OBS would eliminate some of this.

Any suggestions is appreciated

there is no such guide that I'm aware of... though that doesn't mean there isn't one
search this forum for other threads on VM/virtual machine, with reference to the hardware GPU requirements for OBS

but before going down that route, think 'data gravity' and your video sources and how you plan to route audio and video to the OBS computer, and latency with remote control, etc
