OBS studio on Centos 7?

Hello,

I do experience quite a few issues with obs studio on my centos 7 and I notice that there are quite a few posts touching similar issues.

So, I guess the short question: is there any point in trying to find a solution for centos 7?

Substantial lag between video and sound? The libqt5 issue? Snap vs rpm? sudo or not? No virtual camera, etc. It works beautifully on the windows partition, but a completely different experience in linux.

Let's start with this one:

/snap/obs-studio/1251/usr/bin/obs: error while loading shared libraries: libQt5Core.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

And if installing via yum instead, 3 second lag on the cameras, and loads of:

QXcbConnection: XCB error: 8 (BadMatch), sequence: 14261, resource id: 90177603, major code: 130 (Unknown), minor code: 3

Previously I ran OBS Studio 24 on CentOS 7 and I don’t have no critical issues. I had difficulties to run newer OBS so that I migrated to CentOS 8. Both OBS Studio 26 and 27 work fine.
Regarding your lag issue, log is required to look into details.
